[RegreSQL: Regression Testing for Postgres Queries](https://boringsql.com/posts/regresql-testing-queries/) — A look into a Go-powered tool for applying Postgres’s own regression testing methodology to your SQL queries in order to verify that changes, whether to your queries or schema, don’t break how you expect those queries to work (e.g. are the right indexes or scan types still being used?)

[Agentic Postgres: AI-Ready Postgres for Developers](https://www.tigerdata.com/blog/postgres-for-agents) — Tiger Data’s Agentic Postgres turns vanilla Postgres into an AI-native database. Fork DBs, give agents memory, and query via REST or CLI. Perfect for Go backends building with Claude, Cursor, or custom agents. Try it free—no card needed.

[Microsoft Unveils a New Postgres Service: _Azure HorizonDB_](https://techcommunity.microsoft.com/blog/adforpostgresql/announcing-azure-horizondb/4469710) — Azure already has [Azure Database for PostgreSQL](https://azure.microsoft.com/en-us/products/postgresql), but HorizonDB offers _“new levels of performance and scalability”_ with support for up to 3072 vCores across nodes and databases of up to 128TB in size for enterprise workloads. It’s currently in “early preview” and I suspect you’ll need deep pockets.

**IN BRIEF:**

- ⭐ [Amazon RDS for PostgreSQL now supports Postgres 18](https://aws.amazon.com/about-aws/whats-new/2025/11/amazon-rds-postgresql-major-version-18/). Postgres 18.1, specifically. [pgcollection](https://github.com/aws/pgcollection) is also included as well as up to date versions of other popular extensions.
- 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿 Jimmy Angelakos has announced [an inaugural _PostgreSQL Edinburgh_ meetup](https://vyruss.org/blog/inaugural-postgresql-edinburgh-meetup.html) taking place in Scotland on December 11.
- If you use Docker's official Postgres images, [be careful when you do minor version upgrades](https://www.reddit.com/r/PostgreSQL/comments/1p0tsgu/dockers_official_postgres_image_is_shipping/) as the underlying Debian release may update too and force an unwanted collation update on your database.
- [create_pg_super_document](https://ryogrid.github.io/create_pg_super_document/index.html) is a project using LLMs to create documentation for every symbol in the Postgres codebase. Could be useful if you're working on extensions or deep in the Postgres implementation.
- Pavlo Golub [reflects on this year's Google Summer of Code event](https://pashagolub.github.io/blog/2025/GSoC-2025-wrap-up/) from the Postgres perspective and the things its participants worked on.
