[Postgres Weekly](http://postgresweekly.com) Issue 137 — December 30, 2015 FROM THE EDITOR

2015 was another great year for Postgres. We saw the release of Postgres 9.4 which included the famed [JSONB](https://wiki.postgresql.org/wiki/What's_new_in_PostgreSQL_9.4#JSONB_Binary_JSON_storage). Logical decoding also laid a great foundation for improving Postgres' replication story.

We also saw an increase in tools and editors, including [Postico](https://itunes.apple.com/us/app/postico/id1031280567?ls=1=12), [SQL Pro](http://www.hankinsoft.com/SQLProPostgres/), and [DB Beaver](http://dbeaver.jkiss.org/). And finally we have [upsert committed in Postgres](http://www.craigkerstiens.com/2015/05/08/upsert-lands-in-postgres-9.5/), though we'll have to wait for the 9.5 release to have our hands on it.
